Spaghetti Night

Matthew, aka Beethoven

I think these explain themselves-- he had the best time!

our vacation and andrew's wedding

After my days in Sigma Alpha, you'd think I'd be a master picture taker-- but after we got home on Thursday, I realized I hadn't taken that many-- here are a few highlights from our trip =)

doesn't Matthew look cool? =) He did great at the wedding- didn't scream at all! Aunt Kay and Aunt Cheryl just fed him cheerios under-cover

Matthew trying out his new floatie!

Brett and Erin on our date night in San Antonio

we tried to go see a movie afterward, but everything was sold out! Didn't know San Antoino had greek roots though....

Our hotel room

with Nana and Grandpa-- they were wonderful babysitters in SA- giving Brett and I a little break!

Matthew's 1st bday

Matthew is officially 1 now! I really can't believe where the year has gone-- but it has, and our baby is about to enter the toddling world. We had a get-together with a few friends last Friday evening-- and Matthew was definitely in fine form! He ate every crumb of his cupcake-- he'd spill a crumb in his lap and find it, because it was so good! We were cracking up at how excited he was at this new-found sweet!

Birthday time!

Examining the cake...

Chow down!

Here are the cupcakes we enjoyed-- I actually busted out my cake decorating stuff!

gross story!!!!

Beware, some may not be able to handle this story.....
This morning, Brett got up and was taking his shower, and as normal, I was still in bed sleeping, when all of a sudden, I felt something on my face. I was still half asleep, so didn't think much of it. Five minutes later, I felt something again, opened my eyes, and there was a roach!!!! Agghhh! I screamed so loud Brett thought I was being murdered, so he jumps out of the shower to come and save me (thankfully, it didn't wake Matthew up!) We killed the roach, I washed my mouth with strong mouthwash, and the sheets are being washed as we speak. Ewww! For those of you not from DFW, roaches can be a common thing, especially in older homes! Be thankful it didn't happen to you =)

It's a halo!

Don't you think the sun sets off a wonderful glow? =)

Pre-teen Camp

Brett and I made the trek to Mt. Lebanon camp at the end of June. This was our first overnight away from Matthew (how romantic! We had 73 pre-teens with us!) We had a great week, and over 15 kids made decisions for the Lord.

M's first swim

A few weeks ago, we took Matthew for his first swim! He loved crawling around in the water, and splashing everywhere.
